Today is National Tolkien Reading Day, so I have music and drink for it like I have for every day since the equinox. I get to indulge my taste for marching music with 1992 Black Gold playing the Lord of the Rings Symphony by Johan de Meij.


For the drink, I'm sharing Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit Cocktail Recipe from Common Man Cocktails.

In order to celebrate the The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug we are building our own shot themed after the movie. The design is simple and fairly accessible to most folks so we hope you like it!

Desolation of Smaug
1/2 oz. Grenadine, 1/2 oz. Eggnog, 1/2 oz. Fireball Whiskey, 5 Drops Bittermen's Hellfire Bitters (Hellfire Habanero Shrub).
